Allianz New Zealand
Allianz Australia Insurance Limited trading as Allianz New Zealand Branch remains a registered licensed insurer with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.
In 2019, following a strategic decision, Allianz left the New Zealand Broker & Agency business. This saw a further review of strategic opportunities for Allianz New Zealand Divisions and Agency partners. The difficult decision was then made to also exit operations with Allianz in New Zealand, including:
- Primacy Underwriting Management Ltd
- Allianz Trade
- Allianz Partners New Zealand
- Allianz Marine & Transit
- Club Marine
- Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty
Allianz Trade and Allianz Partners now have insurance arrangements with alternate Insurers in New Zealand.
In December 2024, Allianz announced the decision to sell Hunter Premium Funding, with Pemba Capital Partners partnering with Hunter Premium Funding in New Zealand and Australia. The asset sale was completed in May 2025.
